Andrzej Żuławski was in artistic exile from his home country of Poland while filming this epic post-Eraserhead, pre-Mother! body-horror masterpiece. Isabelle Adjani gives the performance of a lifetime, and you get to see a young and spermy Sam Neill. Sexy tentacle aliens will fill up your holes all night long in this movie full of chunky blood, broken eggs, spilled milk, oozing jism, allusions to world politics and some of the most gut-dumping relationship trauma you’ll ever see in a horror movie.
